Bin size planning guide

The former site described specific bins, but inventory and dimensions cannot be treated as current. A better planning process begins with the project.

1. List material types and separate restricted or dense loads.
2. Estimate loose volume, accounting for air space around bulky items.
3. Estimate weight; masonry, soil and roofing can reach limits before a bin looks full.
4. Measure gate width, overhead wires, slope and turning space.
5. Confirm whether street placement needs municipal permission.
6. Ask the current provider for internal dimensions, fill line, weight allowance and prohibited items in writing.

Allow a margin for uncertainty. Overfilled or overweight containers create transport and safety problems.
